Ministries

This was something God revealed to me and I posted on Dec. 11 2007

GOD DOES NOT PULL US OUT OF OUR LIVES TO BEGIN MINISTRIES; INSTEAD, HE POURS THE MINISTRY INTO THE LIVES WE ARE ALREADY LIVING.How long have I waited and wished and dreamed of God "giving" me a ministry. Unlike many of those around me, God has never spoken to me or through anyone else about me being called to any sort of ministry and that has always made me sad because my greatest desire was to be involved in a full time "ministry". As I was talking to my friend, I suddenly got the revelation about living our everyday lives verses being "Called Out" to a defined ministry, like pastor or prophet etc… And it suddenly became clear that I have been so busy seeking a ministry and just drifting through my life waiting for Godto show me "what I am for" that I missed the bigger picture.

In fact, God showed me that NO ONE IS CALLED OUT OF THEIR LIFE to have a ministry. Instead, God pours ministries INTO THE LIVES of His people. Even those in what we consider huge ministries, like Billy Graham or Joyce Myers, were not called out of their lives for God to give them a ministry. God poured a ministry into lives that werealready in motion. Lives that He lovingly created and focused and guided to be the vessel for the ministry that was to be poured into their lives. Our ministry, whatever that entails to each person, is a special and specific thing for every single one of God's people andour lives are being shaped by the master potter to hold the ministry He choose for us before we were born. It is uniquely shaped to who God intended us to be.

All of us are under the Great Commission to go out and teach all nations, but the individual ways in which we accomplish that task is our ministry. Each one of us is uniquely gifted to a kingdom purpose and it is through the process of living our lives as God has mapped them out that we will best accomplish that purpose. Therefore, eachof us is "called" to a ministry, but it would be more correct to say that each of us is "called" to live our lives and those lives are our ministry.

This may be common sense to some of you, but it was a pretty big revelation to me. I had heard the words said before, not in that particular way, but it is not a "new" idea. Now, it is a living idea. The concept has taken on life and become "real" to me because God opened my awareness of it. I have spent so many years walking in a tiny trickle of God's power, and ministering on the side, while I waited for God to SEND me a ministry, when the ministry I have always sought, has always been within the life I am already living.

I don't know where I am going with this "new" information, but I know God does not revel anything without expecting us to put it to use. For the moment, I am just going to soak in the knowledge that I don't have to wait for my ministry anymore and see where God leads me next. Although, now that I see this, so many other things arebeginning to make so much more sense. :)
